Why are we different?
 
North Wales Image is a special collection of images and photos held by Heritage Recording Services UK.  It is kept as part of our main database and when you click the above link you will go straight on to the section of the website www.heritagephotoarchive.co.uk holding our Special Collection of North Wales Images.
 
Images Explained is a new  approach to making photographs accessible, understandable and interesting. We believe that photographs and images lose their historic value over time if information about what is actually in the photo and why it was taken is not preserved with the image.  So we try to explain and interpret the image for the viewer.
  
Who is behind North Wales Images?
North Wales Images was set up by two passionate Heritage Professionals to share their important historical record photos with everyone interested in North Wales, its History  & Culture.
Who is it intended for?
 Anyone! Students, schools, researchers, historians, local history societies, archaeologists, natural historians, and of course, students of Welsh History.
 
Quality
The vast majority of our images are to high professional standards but we also include older & poorer quality images where they provide a unique record.
 
Can I buy copies of photographs?
Yes, our prices are comparable to those charged by public libraries and similar bodies.

Can I search for images?

Yes.  To access the database and extensive photo galleries simply click at the top of this Home Page where it says CLICK HERE.

 

This will link you into our Main Site where we have dedicated a large section just for Welsh images. The site also has many other historical images from North West England & overseas as well as a great deal of Welsh Geology.

 

Simply type in a word eg Llandudno  or Wales or Cymru into the SEARCH box and it will find all occurrences of images relating to Llandudno or Wales or Cymru - or whatever word you are searching for.
