Ken Howarth is a photographer of many years experience now based in Cumbria. He is professionally qualified in museums and heritage having lived for over decade in Wales where he worked worked extensively recording and preserving Welsh heritage. He has also worked in the North West of England, as well as Greenland, Ireland, Malta, and India. His clients have included United Nations, National Library for Wales, Council for Museums, Libraries Arts Wales, National Library for Wales, Northern Marches Cymru, Conwy Council, Wrexham Council, Welsh Assembly Government, Delwedd (Caernarfon), Ynys Mon Council, Snowdonia National Park, as well as numerous heritage centres, museums and art galleries across the UK. His interests include geology and industrial archaeology which is reflected in the images on display. Ken was founder of the North West Sound Archive (UK) and its director for many years, photography playing a major role in this work. His son David Howarth, is a major contributor to the site and is an expert in photographing derelict buildings and ruins and has contributed many images to Coflein - the Royal Commission for Ancient Monuments Wales. |
